Double Rock: Girls in the Park

They were only in town for a minute as part of the Movers & Shakers RV Tour, but Lyn-Z Adams, Leticia Bufoni, Carabeth Burnside, and the rest of the crew made the most of it at Thrashers Double Rock.

Stefani Nurding in her Prime

SkaterGirl author Stef recently posted on her blog a little footage of herself skating at Prime skatepark in Plymouth. She might spend a lot of her time shredding the mountains (she took a silver and bronze in this years Brits comp in Laax) but her skating is still effortless and smooth.

Artist Profile: Emma Fitzgerald

The lovely Emma Fitzgerald is an old friend of mine from University, who I recently asked to create some bits for me for the NASS 2010 Girls Competition earlier this Summer.

Get, Set, Go! Results

It has been a massive few months for the Crossing Boarders tour, who at the weekend ended up in Malmö for an all girls international skate contest entitled GET, SET, GO! There were girls representing from the UK, USA, Denmark, Canada, Mexico and of course from all over Sweden – with the event going down at Malmö’s famous concrete park (the same weekend as the Ultra Bowl II, an international bowl contest).

The final results were as follows:

World Championships of Freestyle 2010

If your skills are in the freestyle arena, then get yourself involved in the 2010 World Freestyle Skateboarding Championships in Philly. It’s open to all who have flatland skateboarding skills and there are 5 divisions, including Girls and 4 types of Event including Timed runs, Best Trick, Highest Ollie and Spin Contest.

Expect some mad skills.

Road Tested : Lyn-Z Adams

WOW!! This is comfortably our video of the month. It’s a mini documentary kind of thing, done by Volcom featuring the mighty Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins and talks about how she was “the first woman in the world to skate the a Mega Ramp”. Listen to her story about her travels in Australia, the 50ft tall roll in on the Nitro Circus mega ramp, her travels in France, and how she was “the first woman to land a 540 McTwist”. Be inspired.

Finnish Miniramp Championships

Ok, first of all, let me say a quick sorry!! SkaterGirl is the Mac Daddy when it comes to sharing girls skate news from around the world but occasionally one slips through the net. This time it was the awesome all girls miniramp championship in Finland. Both Nikita and Les Ettes were involved and it went down last weekend (21st August) at 4pm at Tuorinniemi skate park, Herttoniemi.
