Back to the Berg

April 11th, 2009

Back to the Berg Thrasher magazine & Zero present: BACK TO THE ‘BERG
On May 30th, history will be made and you’ll be a part of it. What we’re looking for: Heart-stopping, jaw-dropping gnar shit like switch heelflips, nollie flips (nollie anything, really), fakie flips, switch threes… Everybody knows the ABDs so there won’t be any cash for those. The amp ramp will be provided, but the talent is your part. All I know is that someone’s walking away with 10-large, and the first girl who jumps the Big Four will get a grand. No hands, no grabs, no crybabies. 12 noon; team managers take note. —Phelps

Brooke Crawford in King of Georgia

April 11th, 2009

Brooke Crawford On April 4th, the King of Georgia skate comp took place which was a battle between shops with six competing teams. Of all the skaters from all the shops, Brooke Crawford was the only girl who entered, representing Woody’s Halfpipe shop in the bowl. She took second in the bowl and brought the team the most points of all the riders. Skillz.

Lyn-z Adams Hawkins in Ultimate Boarder

April 11th, 2009

Lyn Z Adams HawkinsThe triathlon of a new generation, the Ultimate Boarder Championship is a one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the art of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. The competition was created in response to the growing popularity of these sports, and as a way to promote healthy, athletic lifestyles among young people. All in a positive and competitive environment that grooms role models and heroes for our country’s next generation.

Basically it’s one crazily tough competition and Lyn-z Adams Hawkins is the only female competing in the 2009 triathalon style surf, skate and snow competition beast.

Running from April 4th to 11th and with $58,500 prize money up for grabs, all set in California - it’s going to be a beauty.

Good Luck Lyn-Z.
