Swedish Skateboard Awards
There’s a competition in Sweden held the same time every year, the time is Lucia. Lucia is a pagan holiday where we swedes eat a special Lucia bun (a bun spiced with saffron), gingerbread cookies and drink Glögg (a special christmas flavored hot wine punch) while we watch a procession of people in white dresses and candle crown/candle in hand singing Lucia songs. Yes, this sounds crazy but that’s what we do. Anyway the competition is appropriately named Lucia Classics. Anna Smideman wrote about this earlier: here.
The same weekend as this competition the Swedish Skateboard Awards is held. And this year Sarah Meurle is a nominee for “This years achievement abroad” (Årets Utländska Prestation). You can vote for her here (click on Sarah’s face):
There’s also a special “Female achievement of the year” award presented by No Limit.
So if you’re in Stockholm during the 11th and 12th of december, find your way to Fryshuset and visit Lucia Classics and the Swedish Skateboard Awards.
