FREE HALF TERM SKATE TUITION
Malmesbury Abbey are hosting the 2nd Annual skate event at their church next week from Midday on Wednesday the 17th up until 9pm on Friday 19th February.
This year I have been asked to run a girls only skate session on the Wednesday and Thursday from 6-7pm.
There will be a competition on the Friday evening too, so if you are in the Wiltshire area, come down for a skate and meet some friendly faces.
The abbey will be turned into an indoor skatepark for three days, along with a cafe and live music stage.
The event will include beginner’s workshops, classes for girls only, competitions and demonstrations from ChristianSkaters.co.uk
There will also be talks on relationships and career ambitions.
“Malmesbury Abbey has been a holy site for 800 years and is also the site of the tomb of the First King of England.
But for three days in February, the pews from the Abbey are to be cleared to make way for skate ramps.
Church elders including the Bishop of Bristol are supporting the idea of covering the stone floor with wooden ramps and shrouding the huge pillars in padding to protect them.”
The event is aimed at getting teenagers into church and to give them a fun and safe place to hang out during the freezing cold half term.
